Thursday’s Blog – What's for supper?

Thursday’s Blog – What's for supper?

Proverbs 1:27-29 – When your terror comes like a storm and your destruction comes like a whirlwind, when distress and anguish come upon you. “Then they will call upon Me, but I will not answer; they will seek me diligently but they will not find me. Because they hated knowledge and did not choose the Fear of the LORD”.

Bible Challenges and Comments
Once upon a time there was a little boy who lived alone with his mother. They had little food, no money and one pig. His mom said one day, son you will need to take the pig to the market and sell it. We have no more food and no more money. The pig will have to become our income for the rest of the year.

The boy walked the ten miles to town to sell the pig. No one was interested in a skinny pig so no one bought the animal. It was getting late and so the boy decided to go home before the night overcame the land. He came to a fence and the pig refused to jump the fence.

As he walked beside the fence he came to a dog and said to the dog. “Dog bite the pig because the pig won’t jump the fence and it prevents me from getting home”. The Dog said; “No, I won’t bite the pig so you cannot go home tonight.”

The boy went a bit further and found a stick, and said to the stick. “Stick beat the dog, because the dog won’t bite the pig and the pig won’t jump the fence and I cannot go home”. “No, said the stick!” Further along the boy found some fire and said; “fire burn the stick and fire said: “no! I will not burn the stick, the stick won’t beat the dog and the dog won’t bite the pig and you won’t get home tonight!”

Finally he found an agreeable pool of water and said to the water. “Water bail on the fire that won’t burn the stick that won’t beat the dog that won’t bite the pig that won’t jump the fence so I can go home tonight!” “Yes, yes I will said the water and immediately began to bail on the fire, the fire sought to burn the stick and the stick reached out and began to beat on the dog. In turn the dog bit at the pig and the pig jumped the fence.

The boy and the pig, got home just before dark, but the next day. Yep! As you may have guessed, the skinny little pig was the broiled supper and provided a few meals for the poor family until! Well… until you finish the story as you see fit. Life is full of warning; the biting, the beating, the burning and the bailout. Programs and Promises never achieve a better way of life and if our country does not heed the warning of Proverbs 1:1-33 we will be eating the skinny pig very soon.

More and more puns, but I am running out!

I heard it from a good source; the energizer bunny was arrested and charged with “battery!”
